Writting in the Middle of Everything
Finding myself in the pauses between everything that matters
There is something beautiful about having a full life.
Not busy for the sake of being busy.
But full.
Full of moments.
Full of movement.
Full of things that matter.
And still… There are times I crave slower seasons.
Rugby season is not one of them.
My life right now is loud in the best way.
Practices.
Games.
Weekends filled with the rhythm of showing up.
I love my kids.
I love my husband.
I love supporting our local rugby club.
My daughter will be joining soon when she reaches high school.
And my sons…
This is their last season coming up.
That part doesn’t sit quietly.
It’s a strange feeling.
To be in a season that feels so full…
while also knowing how quickly it will change.
And somewhere inside all of that—
I find myself coming back to writing.
Not in long, quiet stretches.
But in the pauses.
The in-between moments.
In the same way, I built my first business during nap times.
It feels familiar.
Because that version of me—the one who survived, adapted, figured it out—
She already knew how to create in the middle of everything.
Only now… it looks different.
I’m not building from survival.
I’m building while living.
There’s a difference.
Motherhood is shifting.
My sons are juniors.
My daughter is finishing middle school.
I can see the next phase coming before I’m ready for it.
It’s wild to stand on this side of it—
the “after” of being a teen mom.
And maybe that’s part of why I write the way I do now.
Because I know who I am beyond being a mother.
Not separate from it.
But rooted deeper than it.
I have always been creative.
Photography.
Arts and crafts.
Modeling.
Poetry.
Blogging.
Writing was never new.
It just took different forms until it became this.
And now—
In the middle of everything shifting, growing, stretching—
I find myself giving depth to characters in ways I couldn’t before.
Not because I lacked skill.
But because I hadn’t lived this version of life yet.
They say you write what you know.
And I believe that.
But it’s not just the trauma I know.
It’s the beauty of building a life on purpose.
It’s the fullness.
The change.
The awareness that time is moving, whether I’m ready or not.
That’s what I’m writing from now.
Not silence.
Not stillness.
But the middle of everything.
